2016 sucks… Of course I miss movies like Hardcore Henry, of course I miss movies like Zootopia. I, instead, get left with the festering piles of crap that I bring all the hate filled bile to the forefront of my mind. I have seen two movies that are worth while this year and the rest have either been trash or at best forgettable. I need a good movie from 2016. Just to prove that there is something left in the tank. Please, if you are out there, send Zootopia. I want that movie! I NEED to see that movie! Just to prove that their is a cinema god out there and that he doesn’t hate me.
I cannot think to write a full review for this movie because this movie doesn’t deserve a full review. It isn’t because it is so horrendous that I cannot write, it is because it is moderately horrendous mixed in with the right amount of forgettable “seen it before” crap that it is fading from my memory even as I write these words. It is my hope that I can get this review written before I completely forget about it. I mean, I should have known. The January movies are quietly being released to the five people who actually wanted to watch them again so I can continue to pick the bones of their carcasses. Either way, let’s get this shit over with. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews The 5th Wave”
I have been seeing an unreasonable amount of superhero movies this year. I should go watch something else, anything else just to break the pattern… But at either rate, I still saw it so now it is time to talk about it. This is going to be a rather long review after I went through the preliminaries of all the things that I wanted to discuss. But what all of this ultimately boils down to is the fact that this movie is probably one of the most painfully average movies that I have seen in a long time. So… I’m going to be trying something a little different with this podcasts this week. I had an idea for a few radio style shows and decided that I wanted to spring them on the world! I have two 6 episode radio shows in the works right now, a Vampire one about to be released AND this one! Z99.9 is a radio show about a man named Jonathan Amos trying to broadcast the state of the world while a deadly disease known as the Fire Virus rages through the world. This is the first episode and the other 5 will be coming out once a week. Please give it a listen, it is well worth the time, and a step in a new direction for my site and the Nerdiest Talk Show on Earth.
Oh this movie… It has been a while since I have seen a movie that has given me such strong opinions. I have to thank Netflix for bringing this gem to my eyes. I’m browsing through it and all the sudden I see a movie starring Chris Evans about the post apocalyptic world where all of society has now been reduced to people riding on a single train, through the frozen tundra, across the entire Earth… Holy hell this is something that I have to watch. So I watched it and to my surprise I had a feeling of exhilarating love as well as head banging anger. While the overall premise and message of the story is one of pure amazement, some of the questions that the story raises just drives me insane that I cannot help but bitch about it and seeing as how that is my job for this site, I guess I can take it as a good thing. I return back to my regular reviewing schedule and I return to it with one of the most irregular movies I have seen in recent years. Based off the short film Jay and Seth versus the Apocalypse, This is the End is one of the most surprisingly bizarrely amazing movies that I have ever seen. I do not know how else to put it. It is a movie about a group comprised of Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchal, and several A-List actors portraying themselves as they meet face to face with the actual Biblical Apocalypse. How else can I describe this movie other than ‘surprisingly bizarrely amazing’? Continue reading “Tanner Reviews This is the End”
And now we reach the point in the Retrospective where we talk about my favorite Resident Evil game of the entire series. No joke, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is my favorite game in the entire franchise and one of my favorite video games of all time.
It just feels like the perfect storm of what I look for in a zombie survival horror game. An interesting setting, interesting characters, the constant fear of being stalked by this massive unstoppable creature, the game I feel is just the crowning achievement of what could be done with the PS1 and to this day I wish that they would remake the game like the did with the first game. Just the same game with PS3 graphics. Continue reading “Tanner’s Resident Evil Retrospective: RE3: Nemesis”
