I FINALLY got back to the movie theater. While I plan to go to see Alien: Covenant this week since I am a glutton for punishment and watching everything I love die, I did get a chance to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so that makes me happy. What more can really be said about Guardians of the Galaxy at this point? It is easily the best franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I will challenge anyone that says otherwise. The story is great, the chemistry is there, and overall it is just an amazing movie. Vol 2 does have a few problems with it on a minuscule level. More importantly the comedy and competing with the first movie which was more than likely the best in the franchise. But overall, it was a fun experience.
Finally! It took me damn near a month and several times I had to push this review back, but after weeks and weeks I finally saw one of the movies I have been looking forward to all year, American Hustle. After last year and seeing what is quickly becoming one of my favorite movies of all time Silver Lining’s Playbook; I have been waiting with baited breath hoping that David O. Russell and his cast could bring the cinematic gold that its predecessor brought… I was not at all disappointed. American Hustle is one of those classic movies that will stick in my mind for years to come. It has solidified David O. Russell as a favorite director of mine and Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Jennifer Lawrence as some of my favorite actors. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews American Hustle”→
So this weekend has not been the best one in my life. The first being that due to all kinds of problems I could not complete the video review of this and have decided to write about this and save the videos for another week… The second is that I actually had to sit through this piece of shit which was one of the longest 90 minutes of my life just falling behind my the Ungodly abomination that was my High School Graduation ceremony. This film… This film hurt. It hurt to watch, it hurt to listen to, it hurt to not walk out of the theater in complete and utter disgust! The only reason I stayed seated was because A) I have to write a review about this and B) I know the internet wants to see me in pain. This film was painful and just goes to show what a cum sucking whore the movie sequel industry is taking a great movie in The Hangover and evolving until the only two real things that are left from the original is the crazed Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) and man-child weirdo Allen (Zach Galifiankas) Continue reading “Tanner Reviews The Hangover III”→
Back when Silver Lining’s Playbook came out I did not get the chance to see it. At the time I was still loving me some Les Miserables and never got the chance to get to the theaters and watch it, much to my parents dismay who had called and told me MANY times, claiming it to be a fantastic movie with all kinds of characters that reminded them of our family. My dad even said he liked it and believe me if that man says he likes a movie THAT MEANS SOMETHING. But as much as I wanted to see it, the more it got put to the back of my mind until it was out of theaters and I was on the outside looking in.
