I FINALLY got back to the movie theater. While I plan to go to see Alien: Covenant this week since I am a glutton for punishment and watching everything I love die, I did get a chance to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so that makes me happy. What more can really be said about Guardians of the Galaxy at this point? It is easily the best franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I will challenge anyone that says otherwise. The story is great, the chemistry is there, and overall it is just an amazing movie. Vol 2 does have a few problems with it on a minuscule level. More importantly the comedy and competing with the first movie which was more than likely the best in the franchise. But overall, it was a fun experience.
The movie is a much more quiet movie compared to the first one is much more of an introspection on a number of characters in the franchise. In the movie, we learn of Starlord’s (Chris Pratt) father and a lot of his past. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”
Well my word, that was certainly an experience. It has been no secret that I have been interested in this movie since the beginning of the year. Jurassic Park is one of my all time favorite movies, so after a disappointing sequel involving William H. Macy and several years in limbo, a continuation of the story has been released. On this episode of NTSOE, I am joined by Fiona Kelly, Nick Uroseva, and Tom Goldthwait from Derailed Games. On this episode, we discuss the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the ten movies (as of this date) that make them up! I hope you all enjoy some witty banter and some great information on the MCU!
Now we come to one of my favorite times of the year! It is time to countdown the best films of 2014! I kind of felt a little like a slouch this year for not being able to see any of the big films for 2014 one of which is Interstellar that still kills me I didn’t get to watch. But after looking at the Oscar Season and lack luster feel of 2014, I feel like I didn’t really miss much so if there is some extra special omissions this year, I apologize. 2015 you will find me at the movies a lot more frequently. But for now we will look at the Best Films that I reviewed on Tanner Reviews.
Keep in mind if the intro did not give it away, these are films that I have personally reviewed for 2014. There may have been a film that was the Citizen Kane or Plan 9 from Outer Space of our generation this year, but if I didn’t see it and review it then sadly it cannot make the list. With that said, let’s have a look at the Top 5 and an honorable mention. Continue reading “The Best Films of 2014”
