Tanner’s Revised Top 25 Favorite Movie of All Time

So, considering the fact that I have finally decided to write the 100 Greatest Movies of All Time… Which is coming soon… I decided to revisit one of my favorite posts of all time: My Favorite Movies of All Time. Here is the thing, opinions change, ideas change, and ultimately my tastes have changed. Some movies have become more prevelent in my mind. Some… Some have fallen off the board altogether. When I originally created my Top 25 list… I completely snubbed a few of my favorite movies due to good ole fashion forgetfulness. As such, movies like Die Hard and Reservoir Dogs have made and rectified the list. So with that said, please enjoy my Top 25 FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME!

Honorable Mentions
Shaun of the Dead
Kill Bill
The Lion King
Strangers on a Train
Ghostbusters
Pulp Fiction
The Dark Knight
La Finestra di Fronte

Tanner Reviews Ghostbusters (2016)

Ghostbusters_2016_film_posterAh! I finally got to see it! I have been looking forward to this one for a number of reasons. My first reason is because Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies of all time. I adore Ghostbusters! It is my childhood with some of my favorite actors of all time and one of my favorite directors of all time. It is, without a doubt, a perfect movie. So when I heard that the Ghostbusters remake was coming out I was hoping that it could capture just a little bit of the magic that the original created for future generations to become hooked and watched the original as well. Second, I wanted to see a movie that could show the legacy of Harold Ramis, an amazing human being who tragically passed away a few years ago. Third, I was wondering how the movie would work after the abysmal trailer that was released earlier in the year. Fourth, I was hoping that the movie was going to be good just to shut a lot of people up who take remakes far too personally. Don’t get me wrong, I can be someone calling for movies to be left alone as much as the next guy. But I am not one who is going to dismiss a movie as trash before even seeing the movie in the first place. After seeing the movie, I have to say that I am glad to say that this was one of the best movies I have seen so far in 2016. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews Ghostbusters (2016)”

Cheesy Romance Month: Crossroads

Crossroads_posterEvery year, I have to review at least one of these cheesy romance movies that just makes me hurt all over. I don’t know what I was expecting from this one. I guess Netflix deemed that I had to give up a solid bit of one of my days to sit through the Brittney Spears vanity project only slightly less prepackaged trite compared to Mariah Carey’s Glitter. On that note, I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I didn’t have to sit through Glitter… Small victories… Small victories. Either way, let’s talk about the lovely little gem that I queued up for myself. I am quite happy that Hollywood has gotten away from the concept of turning a pop artist into a movie star. I guess after From Justin to Kelly, Glitter, and this fiasco, they have realized that just because someone is talented in one field, doesn’t necessarily mean that they are going to be an instant success in the movie industry. Tanner Reviews Ghostbusters 2

220px-Ghostbusters_ii_posterIt was around this time last year that I was still trying my hardest to create a video style review show. Granted, I’m having a bit more success with that now one year down the line but that is neither here nor there. (WATCH NERDIEST TALK SHOW ON EARTH!) But a year ago I said that in the spirit of Halloween, I would review Ghostbusters 2. Now, I intend to keep to that promise… Even though it is the Halloween the year after that I made the promise, I still intend to keep it! So Ghostbusters 2… I do not have the love for this film that many people surprisingly do. It just feels like another great classic movie that got bitten by the Hollywood sequel bug, nothing really more to that than that. But apparently several people do like the film, usually citing their extreme love for the original that carries on to the sequel. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews Ghostbusters 2”
