Tanner Reviews Five Nights at Freddy’s 4

Fnaf_4_desktop_iconWell, I reviewed the other three games in this franchise. I might as well bring up the fourth and hopefully final installment of the Scott Cawthorn horror game, Five Nights at Freddy’s. I have made it no secret that I adore these games for being original, chilling, and building a good story using minimalistic storytelling devices. As a matter of fact, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s won my award for Best Video Game of 2014. So to say that I have praise for this franchise is nothing short of an understatement.

So when I heard that there was going to be a Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, a daring sequel to the supposed FNAF trilogy, I groaned. For a series that was so good up until this point, now we run the risk of over saturation of the market and the fact that the story is simply played out just about everything that it can do. The best step forward would be a prequel to expand the mythos and everyone knows what I feel about prequels (I hate them.) So when it was finally released, I have to say that it almost completely met expectations. While it did lead on the positive side, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 feels more of a cash in than a definitive conclusion to a great series. Continue reading “Tanner Reviews Five Nights at Freddy’s 4”

Tanner Reviews Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

Five_nights_at_freddy's_2_logoFor anyone who read my article a couple of weeks ago, one video game that has grabbed my attention by the balls and is refusing to relinquish its vice grip is Five Nights at Freddy’sI’m loved this game and am continuing to love this game. The twisted and innovative horror video game from the mind of Scott Cawthon has become a shining beacon of hope and prosperity in an otherwise bleak and dying world of survival horror video games. By creating simple mechanics, a wonderfully new setting, the inability to move or fight your captors, and unique and horrifying enemies; Five Nights at Freddy’s is easily one of the greatest survival horror games of all time. Easily in the Top Ten and I will fight anyone who has any sort of different opinion on this matter.

I got on board the Five Nights at Freddy’s pain train a little late to the party just playing the excellent game several weeks ago… And already I hear that we have ourselves a sequel to review and both are 2014 games! Oh goody! My best video games list may be nothing but me gushing over how amazing Scott Cawthon’s imagination is. Yeah… For anyone expecting that list you need to be ready for that because Five Nights at Freddy’s  2 is just as astonishing if not better than its predecessor, building more scares and increasing the challenge to untold heights. Tanner Reviews Five Nights at Freddy’s

Five_nights_at_freddys_cover_artDamn it! Fucking damn it! This game! This fucking game! Jesus tap dancing Christ this game is fucking terrifying and for something so simplistic is executed masterfully. How in the hell did this game do it? I have no idea. You take a concept so simple and make it absolutely horrifying… I love it! I absolutely love it! I love every single second of it. Five Nights at Freddy’s needs to be taught in college classes on how to appropriately build suspense and to use jump scares as they are intended to be used. This game is an absolute modern marvel and one of the best damn games that I have played in recent years and I mean that with absolutely no hyperbole. Five Nights at Freddy’s is something that everyone should experience and you can for the low price of $4.99 on Steam!
